evive Help Center

evive is your AI assistant for managing your WordPress site — just tell it what you want, in plain Dutch or English, like you're messaging a colleague.

Getting started

Signing in. No passwords to remember. Enter your email, we send you a 6-digit code, you're in. You'll stay logged in for a week.

Connecting your site. Enter your website address and a WordPress Application Password (not your regular login password — evive will explain how to generate one). evive checks the connection and confirms everything's set up correctly.

Multiple sites. Manage more than one website from the same account, switch between them from the sidebar, and mark one as your default.

Getting updates. The evive plugin on your site checks for new versions on its own — updating is a normal one-click WordPress update, nothing extra to configure.

Talking to evive

Just describe what you want — evive figures out the rest. It reads your site once when you connect it (pages, content types, how it's built) so you don't have to re-explain your own website every time.

Write in any language — Dutch, English, or whatever you're comfortable in — evive replies in kind. Your past conversations are saved per site, so you can pick up where you left off.

Try: "add a new page for our summer opening hours"

A note on photos in chat: you can attach up to 25MB of images per message — plenty for a handful of high-resolution photos at once.

Content: pages, posts, and everything else

Create or update anything. Pages, blog posts, and custom content on your site (portfolio items, reviews, team members — whatever your site uses), even types that don't normally support this kind of editing.

Try: "create a new team member page for Sarah, using the same layout as the others"

Nothing publishes by accident. Everything evive creates starts as a draft. Publishing is always something you ask for separately, once you're happy with it.

Preview without leaving the chat. Every draft comes with a "View draft" button that shows you exactly how it'll look on your real site — no need to log into WordPress.

Edit right there in the preview. Click "Edit" and use a simple toolbar (bold, italic, headings, lists, links, images) to tweak the draft. Save it and the preview updates instantly. This works on already-published pages too, not just drafts.

Try: "make the headline on my homepage bigger and change it to 'Welcome to our studio'"

"Show me my drafts." Ask evive to list what's in progress — optionally filtered — and get a set of cards you can open straight away.

Try: "show me my draft blog posts"

Duplicate and fill. For sites with repeating content (reviews, case studies, portfolio pieces), ask evive to copy an existing item and fill it with new details instead of starting from scratch.

Try: "duplicate our most recent review and fill it in with a new one from Sarah"

Works with Elementor. If your site is built with Elementor, evive edits it correctly at the block level — swapping text or images without breaking your layout.

Search everything. Ask evive to find something on your site and it searches all your content, including inside Elementor-built pages.

Try: "find every page that mentions our old phone number"

Bilingual sites (Polylang). Ask evive to create a Dutch and English version of something together — they're automatically linked as translations of each other.

Try: "write this new blog post in both Dutch and English"

Forms

Edit an existing contact form. Ask evive to change a field on your contact form -- update placeholder text, make a field optional or required, add/remove an option from a dropdown, or change the submit button text.

Try: "make the phone number field on my contact form optional"

Not yet available: reading past form submissions (most sites don't currently keep a stored copy of submissions to read from), or building a brand-new form from scratch.

Photos and media

Just paste or attach a photo — evive uploads it to your media library for you.

Automatic alt text. New photos get an accurate, AI-written description automatically — good for accessibility and search engines, with nothing extra for you to type.

Fix existing photos too. Ask "which photos are missing alt text?" and evive can find and fix them in bulk, not just new uploads.

Try: "which photos on my site are missing alt text?"

Slideshow support. If your homepage uses a Slider Revolution or Elementor slideshow, ask evive to swap out a specific slide's image.

Try: "change the background photo on the second homepage slide"

Video and GIF uploads are supported too, up to 100MB for video and 20MB for GIFs.

Not yet available: replacing a specific image everywhere it's used across your site by ID — today this only works for slideshows.

SEO

Update SEO details on anything. Ask evive to check or change the SEO title, meta description, or focus keyword on any page, post, or custom content — evive will suggest values based on what's already on the page.

Try: "check the SEO on my services page and suggest improvements"

evive notices things along the way. While looking at a page's SEO, evive may flag other issues it spots — missing alt text, an outdated date, thin content — as friendly suggestions.

Not yet available: a full, structured site-wide SEO audit (keyword research, content gaps, competitor comparison). What exists today is per-page and conversational.

Structured data for FAQs. Ask evive to add FAQ structured data to a page — this helps AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, and others) and search engines understand and cite your content more accurately. This requires the Yoast SEO plugin to be active on your site; evive will tell you if it isn't, or if another SEO plugin is active alongside it (running two schema-generating SEO plugins at once causes conflicts, so evive won't proceed until only one is active).

Try: "add FAQ schema to my services page based on the questions already there"

Backups

One-click backup. Ask evive to back up your site (database and files) — no need to open WordPress admin.

Try: "back up my site now"

Backup history. See a list of past backups with size, date, and status, and clean up old ones.

Important: always check backup history for a completed backup, not just the "backup started" message. On some hosting setups, a backup can occasionally stall after starting — we're working on making evive detect this automatically, but for now, confirm in your backup history that a backup actually finished before relying on it.

Full site restores are still a manual step on your hosting side — evive doesn't perform full disaster-recovery restores for you (yet).

On your phone

evive works in a mobile browser and can be installed to your home screen like an app. We're still fine-tuning the mobile experience, so if something feels off on your phone, let us know.
